HYGIENE and after care
At Hendric Shinigami Tattoo Studio Bali, the health and safety of our clients are our top priority. We strictly follow the Occupational Health and Safety Guidelines set by the Professional Tattoo Association of Australia, ensuring full compliance with Australia's Workplace Health and Safety Standards.
HYGIENE STANDARDS
Medical-Grade Sterilization
We strictly adhere to medical-grade sterilization protocols. All equipment, including needles, grips, and tubes undergoes rigorous sterilization. We exclusively use single-use, disposable needles and grips for each client to eliminate any risk of cross-contamination.
Professional Cleanliness Standards
Our studio is maintained at the highest standards of cleanliness. All workstations are thoroughly disinfected before and after each session with hospital-grade cleaners. Every surface, including chairs, counters, and equipment, is treated to create a pristine environment for your safety.
Certified and Trained Artists
Our tattoo artists are fully trained in proper hygiene practices, certified in first aid, and knowledgeable about cross-contamination prevention.
Quality and Safety in Inks
We exclusively use premium, internationally certified inks that meet rigorous safety standards. Our inks are vegan-friendly, non-toxic, and hypoallergenic, ensuring they are safe for your skin and minimize the risk of allergic reactions or complications.
Protective Gear
Our team adheres to strict personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines, including the use of disposable gloves, masks, and barriers during each session. We maintain the utmost professionalism to ensure every tattoo is applied in a sterile and secure environment.

after care treatment
After 1 Hour
Leave the wrap on for 1 hour only. During this time, avoid touching, rubbing, or applying anything to your tattoo.
On The Day
After 1 hour of your session, wash your hands with soap and water before touching the area. Gently remove the wrap. Wash your tattoo with lukewarm water and mild, unscented antibacterial soap. Rinse well and pat dry with a clean paper towel. Let the skin breathe for a few minutes, then apply a thin layer of aftercare balm (ask us for a recommended brand). Do not re-wrap the tattoo.
Day 1 - 3 | THE HEALING PROCESS
Clean the tattoo twice a day—morning and night. Avoid direct sun, sweat, and friction. Wear loose clothing to let your skin breathe.
Days 4–7 | PEELING & ITCHING
Your tattoo will start to flake and itch—this is normal. Do not scratch or peel it! Make sure you keep cleaning and moisturizing gently twice a day. And still avoid swimming, soaking, and long exposure to the sun.
Weeks 2–3 | DEEPER HEALING
Most peeling stops, and your tattoo may look slightly dull—this is part of the skin recovery. Moisturize once a day or as needed. You can slowly return to normal activities but avoid anything that rubs on the tattoo.
Weeks 4
Your skin is likely healed on the surface, but deeper healing continues. Apply sunscreen (SPF 30+) if the tattoo will be exposed to sunlight. Keep the area moisturized for healthy skin and long-lasting color.
Avoid During Healing
- No swimming, saunas, or baths for at least 3–4 weeks.
- No harsh soaps, alcohol, or scented products on the tattoo.
- Don’t let pets lick or rub the area.
- Don’t pick, peel, or scratch—even if it itches.
When to Get Help
- Excessive redness or swelling after 3–4 days
- Yellow or green discharge
- Bad odor coming from the tattoo
- Fever or chills
after care treatment Using Second Skin / Saniderm
Day 1 | Right After Your Tattoo Session

Your artist has applied a Second Skin (or Saniderm) protective film over your fresh tattoo.
Do not remove it — this barrier helps protect your tattoo from bacteria, dirt, and friction.
Days 3–7 | While the Second Skin Is On

Keep the film on for 5 to 7 days, depending on how your skin responds and heals.
It’s normal to see fluid buildup under the film, this can include plasma, excess ink, and natural body fluids.
Do not peel, pick, or lift the film. If the edges begin to loosen slightly, that’s okay. Just avoid touching it or trimming the lifted edges.
Day 7 | Removing the Second Skin

Gently remove the film in the shower, using warm water to help loosen the adhesive.
Pull slowly, stretching the film horizontally along your skin, not upwards. This reduces discomfort and skin trauma.
After Removing the Film | Cleaning & Moisturizing
Clean the tattoo:
Use lukewarm water and unscented antibacterial soap.
Gently wash the area with clean hands.
Pat dry with a clean paper towel — do not rub.
Moisturize:
Apply a thin layer of fragrance-free tattoo aftercare lotion or a gentle healing ointment.
Avoid over-applying — just enough to keep the tattoo lightly moisturized.
Healing Timeline

Initial healing: 2–3 weeks. The tattoo may look healed on the surface, but deeper layers are still recovering.
Full healing: Up to 2 months.
Continue to moisturize regularly and protect your tattoo from sun exposure to preserve its vibrancy.
